Description

Special Issue of the IEEE Transactions on Haptics in association with the 29th IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE 2011)

Deadline for ICCE Submissions (2-page IEEE format) - 31st July 2010
Deadline for ToH Submissions (full manuscripts) - 1st December 2010

Submissions are invited of 2-page extended abstracts for presentation in a special session at ICCE 2011, and full manuscripts for publication in a special issue of the Transactions on Haptics (ToH). Manuscripts do not need to be submitted to ICCE to be considered for publication in ToH, but submission to both the conference and journal is strongly encouraged.

Applications of haptics are gaining widespread acceptance in consumer markets, and are a vital part of the overall user experience when interacting with digital interfaces. The Guest Editors invite papers that cover topics such as sensor and actuator design, interface design, rendering algorithms, user performance evaluation, user experience evaluation, and human factors, as they pertain to consumer products. Suitable topics are those for, but not limited to, mobile phones, touch screens, consumer electronics, gaming, automotive, and human-machine interfaces.  Papers focusing on enabling technologies, applications, and evaluation (e.g., user studies) are welcomed.

Extended abstracts: 2 pages in IEEE format

Extended abstracts may be submitted up to the 31st July for presentation in a special session on Haptics at the International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE 2011) to be held immediately after the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. ICCE is where key technologies, services, devices and architectures for consumer entertainment and information delivery are first presented.  All submissions will be reviewed in accordance with the normal procedures of ICCE 2011.  Accepted abstracts will be published in the Proceedings of ICCE 2011.  Information for authors can be found at http://www.icce.org.

The special session on Haptics in Consumer Electronics will be Co-Chaired by Danny Grant of Immersion Corporation ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
